This four-day tour focuses on the peak of the breeding season, from the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast to the rare heathlands. We keep the schedule flexible to follow the best sightings and weather conditions:

  • Coastal Cliffs & Wildflowers: A visit to Durlston Country Park to see nesting Guillemots, Razorbills, and Fulmars. We’ll explore the wildflower meadows for Early Spider Orchids and butterflies, while listening for Whitethroats, Blackcaps, and the aerial displays of the Hobby.

  • Island Wildlife & Red Squirrels: We’ll board a boat to Brownsea Island, crossing Poole Harbour—a prime spot for Ospreys and White-tailed Eagles. On the island, we’ll visit the lagoon for breeding Common and Sandwich Terns, and keep a quiet eye out for the elusive Red Squirrel.

  • The Heath at Dusk: Afternoon exploration of Morden Bog and Heath for Woodlark, Common Redstart, and Dartford Warbler. If the group is in agreement, we can stay later into the evening to hear the unique churring of Nightjars.

  • Seabirds & Headlands: Our final morning at Hengistbury Head offers brilliant views of Sand Martins returning to their nests, along with Terns, Kittiwakes, and Wheatears along the coastal edge.

We start with a relaxed introduction on day one and conclude the week with a final lunch at Hengistbury Head to discuss the week’s highlights before heading home.
